ABOUT
GENTRIX SHANGA
As an Emmy-nominated producer, I have covered stories that capture not only the challenges and conflicts people face but also the resilience and hope that's ever-present.
I’m a journalist, producer, videographer, and editor who loves telling the human story and uncovering what lies beneath the surface.

With experience at four major networks, I’ve handled high-profile, high-pressure situations with finesse. As an NBC News Northeast Bureau Newsgathering Producer, I spearheaded coverage of breaking news events, leading a team of correspondents and production crews across all NBC News platforms. Human interest stories are my bread and butter. I had the privilege of showcasing the best in people at the 3rd Hour of TODAY.

I led the pre-production team for the Emmy-nominated series NYC Overcoming, highlighting the resilience of New Yorkers across the five boroughs as they bounced back from the COVID-19 pandemic at its epicenter.

For ABC News' limited series Soul of A Nation, I dove into the authentic realities of Black life, exploring spirituality, Black joy, sports activism, and the racial reckoning that followed George Floyd’s death.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me with a camera on some adventure with friends, lost in a great sci-fi book, or hitting the pavement for a long run (I’ve done a half marathon, and a full marathon is on the horizon).

Let’s collaborate and tell stories that matter!
